Mrs. Sophia Ann Bauman, 71, West Burlington route one, died at 5:45 p.m. Thursday (October 11, 1951) at her home.

She was born November 30, 1879, in Henry county (Iowa), the daughter of Jacob and Saraphine Speidel, and was married April 9, 1901, to Antone Bauman.

Mrs. Bauman was a member of St Mary's Catholic church of West Burlington.

Surviving are her husband, 2 sons, Lawrence, Des Moines county, and Leonard, Burlington; 2 daughters, Mrs. Esther Funk Yarmouth, and Mrs. Mabel Johnson, West Burlington; 5 brothers, Jacob, Thomas, George and Chris, Speidel, all of Burlington, and Joseph Speidel, Davenport; 5 sisters, Mrs. Lucy McDonald, Danville, Mrs. Henry Orth, Burlington route 2, Sisters Parmena and Jacobine of St. Louis, and Mrs. John Kamp, Ft. Madison. There are 5 grandchildren.

The body is at Prugh's chapel.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sophia Ann Bauman, who passed away, October 11, 1951, will be held in St. Mary's Catholic Church, West Burlington, Iowa, Monday morning at 9 o'clock.

The cortege will leave Prugh's Chapel at 8:30 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, West Burlington, The Rosary will be recited in Prugh's Chapel, Sunday evening at 7:30 o'clock.
