Mr. Fred James Deam, 79, of Wapello, died Monday at 10 a.m. in Burlington hospital.

Mr. Deam was a native of Des Moines county, born August 29, 1885, the son of James and Jane Huntington Deam. He was married to Bertha Davis, who died December 11, 1925.

Survivors include two children, Vivian Deam, of Wapello, and Mrs. Elberta Potter, of Mt. Pleasant; two grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Deam, of Mediapolis, and Clarence Deam, of Morning Sun; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Earnest, of Wapello. Three sisters and two brothers are dead.

Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Dudgeon-McCullen Funeral Home with the Reverend Ronald Ross of the Presbyterian church officiating. Burial will be in Kossuth cemetery near Mediapolis.
