Homer H. James, 77, 2440 South Third, was fatally stricken while vacationing at Hollywood Beach, Florida, Saturday, February 16.

He was born at Carlisle December 8, 1896, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel James. He married Mae I. Gardener; after her death in 1942 he married Florence Hussel at Kingston July 4, 1944.

Mr. James, a retired branch manager for the former Becker Roofing Company, was a member of Grace United Methodist church.

Surviving: The wife; son Calvin Jones (sic), Ottumwa; four daughters: Mrs. Carol Crawley, Richmond Heights, Ohio; Mrs. Barbara Conn, San Diego, California; Mrs. Eleanor Rosengreen, Boone; and Mrs. Norma Bock, Burlington; a sister, Mrs. Grace Mclntire, Des Moines; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Funeral: Grace church, 2 p.m. Friday; Reverend Laurence Garrett; Aspen Grove cemetery. A memorial to Grace church has been established at the funeral home.
