Richard Steffener

Richard L. Steffener, 76, of Mediapolis, passed away Friday, November 21, 2025 at his home. Private graveside services will be held at Kossuth Cemetery.

Richard was born on February 18, 1949 in Burlington, Iowa to Robert and Helen (Jackson) Steffener. He was a 1967 graduate of Mediapolis High School. Richard was united in marriage to Holly Wilson on December 31, 1966. Richard was a lifelong farmer, and believed strongly in land conservation. He loved to travel, especially to Hawaii, but most of all he loved his family.

Richard is survived by his wife of 58 years, Holly; children Kimberly (Todd) Wade, Toni Steffener, Erin (Bob) Steffener, and Robert (Kelsey) Steffener; grandchildren Megan (Drew) Hostetter, Jacob (Kayla) Hollingsworth, Tucker (Misty) Hollingsworth, Molly (Seth) Bietz, Kassidy (Mitch) Willimack, Shelby Steffener, Macy Steffener, Isabelle Steffener, Jackson (Morgan) Steffener, and Veronica Steffener; great-grandchildren Nataley, Hayden, Sofia, Kylo, River, Beckett, Bennett, Baker, Henry, Theodore, and Loukas; sisters Karen (Charles) Powers and Bette (Denny) Russell; aunt Eunice Stone; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
