Walter Tieman

Walter A. Tieman, 84, Mediapolis, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 1991 at Burlington Medical Center. He was born Dec. 11, 1906 at Burlington, the son of Samuel and Ida Zachmeyer Tieman. He married Hazel Walker, who preceded him in death on Oct. 31, 1973. He was a farmer and a carpenter. He had been a member of the Latty United Church of Christ.

Survivors include one son, Dale Tieman, Rt. 2 Burlington; two grandchildren, Christine and Mark; four sisters: Ruth Tieman and Laura Beck, both of Burlington, Edith Armeda Weyrick of Danville, and Helen Tieman of Mediapolis; two brothers, Cecil Tieman of Burlington, and Richard Tieman of Sperry.

Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m.on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at Hagele and Honts Funeral Homein Mediapolis, with Rev. James Garrett officiating. Korkee Carruthers was the organist. Casket bearers were John Wischmeier, Mark Riffel, Kerm Nickerson, Russ Hutchinson, Al Brueck and Lee Inghram. Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery, Burlington.

A memorial has been established for the Mediapolis Community Ambulance Service.
