John Meck, 74 years old, dropped dead as he entered his home, 1604 South Fifteenth Street last night at 8:30 o'clock. An attack of heart trouble is believed to have caused his death. It was said that he had been in his usual good health yesterday.
Mr. Meck was born in Friecelsheim, Germany on November 28, 1850. He came to America in 1865 and settled in Burlington four years later, where he had since lived. In 1872 he was married to Miss Martha Beatty, who preceded him in death in November, 1924. Mr. Meck was employed by the Lagomarcino-Grupe company here as an ice cream maker for many years.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Sophie Hodges and Mrs. Fannie Weaver, both of Burlington; four sons, George, William, John and Thomas Meck, all of Burlington; one brother, George Meck of Burlington; eleven grandchildren and two sisters in Germany.
Funeral arrangements have not been made.
