Forest Hand Found Dead

Forest H. Hand, 51 of 509 S. Gertrude street, a logging contractor for the Burlington Basket company was found dead in his car about five miles north of Burlington on the River Road Friday morning. Coroner Robert Giles said he died about 7 a.m. apparently of a heart attack.
According to the sheriff's office, Hand was found by Ganzer, the sheriff's office was notified. The car, which was parked, was not damaged according to the sheriff's office.
Hand was born May 23, 1895, in Des Moines County.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Edward, Burlington; one sister, Mrs. Ellis Mannis(SIC),Jacksonville, Fla., and two grandchildren.
The body is at Giles funeral home pending funeral arrangements.
