Mrs. Elizabeth Vollmer passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Moehle, near Mediapolis, August 31,. She was born in Prussia, Germany, and came to this country in 1858 with her husband, Frederick Beckmann, the husband passed away in 1864 and the widow was left with four children; William and Carl Beckmann, Mrs. Hannah Buhrmaster and Mrs. Minnie Einwaechter. In the course of time deceased became the wife of Henry Vollmer, who died in 1897. Two children resulting from this union are Mrs. Moehle, with whom deceased passed the evening of her life. Beside the children there are nineteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. The remains were laid away the the cemetery, the Rev. Theo. Kies of West Burlington officiating. Mary friends will honor her memory.
