MURDER IN BURLINGTON – We clip the following from the Burlington Telegraph:

Mr. Thomas B. McCormack lost his life on Saturday last. Mr. M. was engaged in hauling wood to the city, and in the course of his route he was compelled to pass by the residence of S. M. Trulock, late Justice of the Peace for the city, where an alteration is being made in the road, teams in the meantime passing over Mr. T's premises. Mr. Trulock seized a bludgeon and dealt him a heavy blow over the back of his head, from the effect of which he died the following morning. Mr. T was subsequently arrested, and is now in jail. Mr. McCormack was a most industrious and peaceable citizen, and a member of the Baptist Church of this city, and his untimely fate is deeply deplored by all who knew him.
