Bernard "Buck" P. Hummer

Mr. Bernard "Buck" P. Hummer, 85, of Burlington died at 9:00 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2016, at Morning Sun Care Center.

Born November 9, 1930 in Burlington, he was the son of Perry and Esther (Lucas) Hummer. He married Patricia "Pat" A. Sandberg. They later divorced.

Mr. Hummer was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Hummer was a heavy equipment operator in construction. He was a member of St. John's Church of Flint River Township. He enjoyed attending auctions, collecting items, working with machinery and he loved being out of doors.

Survivors include three sons: Ronald (Teri) Hummer, Daniel Hummer and Craig Hummer all of Burlington; two daughters, Susan Hummer of West Burlington and Kelly Hummer of Burlington; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and one brother, Wayne Hummer of Lincoln, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, four sisters, and one grandson.

Services were held at Lunning Chapel on July 15th and interment was in the Flint River Township Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa.
