Life Resident Is Dead Here

Leonard Phillip Wehage, 70, route 1 West Burlington, farmer, and native of Des Moines county died at 4:22 a.m. Thursday in Burlington hospital.

He was born in Franklin township May 2, 1873, the son of Henry and Anna Wehage, and lived in that township all his life. He married Louise Luetiger Jan. 31, 1899, she preceding him in death 3 years ago.

He was a member of the Salem Lutheran church. Surviving are 9 children: Mrs. Vera Beckman of West Burlington, Walter of Ne London, Arthur of Kingston, Mr. Esther Wagner of Danville, Clarence of Burlington, Carl and Frances at home, Melvin in the army at Camp McCain, Miss and Mrs. Norma Mattoon of Burlington, on sister, Mrs. Anna Krieger of Burlington; 16 grandchildren. His parents, 3 children, 6 sisters and 3 brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Salem Lutheran church in Franklin township preceded by short services in Prugh's chapel at 1:30 p.m.
