Services for William J. Watts, 67, of 1675 Finley Street, will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Blades Hall, University of Dubuque. Burial will be in Middletown, Iowa. Friends may call from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Egelhof Casper-Strueber Funeral Home, 1145 Locust Street where Mosaic Lodge 125 services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Watts died at 9 a.m. Sunday at Bethany Home. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and served in the U.S. Navy for 30 years, retiring in 1970. For the past 15 years he worked at the University of Dubuque. He was a member of Mosaic Lodge 125 and past monarch of the Oxus Grotto, both of the Mosaic order; member and past president of the USS Concord (CL-10) reunion, member of American Legion 40 and 8, and a Navy veteran serving in World War II, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam.

Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Streed, a daughter, Nora Lynn Whittemore of Bellevue, Wash., a son, John S. of Dubuque, three grandchildren, and two brothers, Edward F. of Brooklyn and Richard D. of Dedham, Mass.

Memorial may be given to Hospice of Dubuque and University of Dubuque.
