Mr. Charles Arthur Willeford, 76, of Burlington, died at 8:15 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2015, at Great River Medical Center - Klein Center.
Born September 3, 1938 in Burlington, he was the son of Merle "Bozo" and Marjorie (Sovern) Willeford. He was previously married to Donna Helmuth.
Mr. Willeford was a graduate of Burlington High School, received his degree in business administration from Iowa Wesleyan College and his engineering degree from Iowa Dept. of Vocational Education. He was an Army veteran.
Mr. Willeford was a manufacturing engineer for J.I. Case Co. and also held various sales positions.
Mr. Willeford was a member of First United Church of Christ, Des Moines Masonic Lodge #1 AF&AM, KAABA Shrine and Moose Lodge #579. He enjoyed "breakfast with the boys" at Hy-Vee and golfing.
Survivors include one daughter, Kim DeLap of Burlington; one son, Chad Willeford of Pleasant Hill; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
The memorial funeral service for Mr. Willeford will be 10 a.m. Saturday, February 14th, at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. JudyAnn Morse officiating. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the time of service.
A memorial has been established.
Cremation has been entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
