Betty June Lindy, 91, former Burlington resident, died at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital, Lake City, Iowa, on Wednesday, January 14, 2015.

Born on June 21, 1923 in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Glenn and Rhoda Ruhl Geren. She married Earl Crawford Lindy on May 19, 1946 in Burlington, Iowa. He died on October 9, 1995.

Betty was a graduate of the Class of 1941 from Burlington High School. She was a homemaker and worked at the Klein Hospital in the therapy department. She was a member of the Carthage Lake Club, Women's Fellowship, First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and church circle. She enjoyed playing bridge.

She is survived by two daughters, Marcia (Allan) Edwards of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Angela (Terry) Hawkins of Rockwell City, Iowa; five grandchildren, Sue (Lee) Flint, David (Kim) Edwards, Beverly (Ron) Juhl. Jeremy (Amber) Hawkins and Jason (Jessica) Hawkins; ten great-grandchildren, Matthew and Emily Flint, Wyat Juhl, Sabrina Edwards, Alie, Brayden & Khyean Hawkins, Carter, Samuel & Carly Hawkins; eight nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; parents; two sisters, Renee McGarry and Lorraine LaRock.

Funeral Services for Betty Lindy will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Burlington, Iowa. Pastor Owen Englin and Pastor David Yonker will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Memorials have been established for the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Burlington, Iowa and Stewart Memorial Community Hospital Hospice, Lake City, Iowa.
