Roy Winston Miller, 89, of Burlington, died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2004, at Burlington Care Center.

Born September 17, 1914, in Burlington, he was the son of Louis Arthur and Charlotta Henrietta Mohr Miller. On August 11, 1939, he married Frances Cox in Burlington. She died November 27, 1989. On November 17, 1990, he married Bernice Thye in Burlington.

Mr. Miller operated Miller's Dry Cleaners for 10 years. He worked in real estate and farming. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Kiwanis, Keenagers and Golden Oldies. He enjoyed fishing, hunting vegetable and flower gardening and working around his home.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, June (Richard) Morrison of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren Wendy Sheehy and Michael Morrison; two great grandsons, Jake and Joe Morrison; one brother, Harold Miller of Long Beach, California; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

The family will receive friends in Prugh's Chapel on Friday evening between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Miller will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Burlington with the Rev. Carl Engstrom officiating. Private family inurnment will be held in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials have been established for Bethany Lutheran Church and Great River Medical Center, Hospice.
