Mrs. Doris M. Knotts, 83, of Burlington died at 12:14 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born December 10, 1931 in Burlington she was the daughter of John C. and Lena M. (Brown) Poore. On November 21, 1949 she married Philip M. Knotts at the First Baptist Church on Washington Street. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1998.
Mrs. Knotts attended Burlington High School. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Knotts was a member of West Hill United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing and knitting. She loved her family very much.
Survivors include three sons, Philip J. (Sharon) Knotts of Merrimack, New Hampshire, Stephen A. (Jill) Knotts of Gladstone, Illinois and Michael S. (Romie) Knotts of Burlington; one daughter, Julie D. Reusch of Burlington; 11 grandchildren, Sharon, Anthony, Amber, Michelle, Carrie, Drake, Timothy, Jon, Jessica, Donald and Charles; and 19 great grandchildren and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one great grandson.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, January 11th, at Lunning Chapel.
The funeral service for Mrs. Knotts will be 10 a.m. Monday, January 12th, at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. David Bracht-Wagner officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for West Hill United Methodist Church Music Department.
