Born March 2, 1921, in Burlington, he was the son of Oliver E. and Florence J. Clampitt Babb.
Mr. Babb was a merchant marine radio officer and retired in 1978.
He was a 1939 graduate of Burlington High School and received his bachelor of science degree in electronic engineering from the Indiana Institute of Technology. He served in the Army during World War II. He loved operating ham radio.
Survivors include two brothers, Donald Babb of Burlington and Richard A. Babb of Fort Worth, Texas; three sisters, Betty Babb of Burlington, Bonnie Wollam of Cantril, and Norma Dannenbring of Republic, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel.
The private family graveside service for Mr. Babb will be Thursday in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
