Frances Adrene Doty, 87, of West Burlington died at 10 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2008, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born Nov. 7, 1920, in Fairfield, IA she was the daughter of James B. and Stella F. Frazier Yardley. On April 20, 1946, she married Thomas Gail Doty Sr. in Burlington. He passed away on Aug. 24, 1987.
Mrs. Doty was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, walking, and riding her bicycle. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Survivors include one son, Thomas G. (Sue) Doty Jr. of Burlington; one daughter, Barbara J. (Ed) Myers of Burlington; four grandchildren Angie (Gene) Shores of Burlington; Bryan (Conie) Doty of Bettendorf; Troy (Kelly) Myers of Burlington; Brandi (Eric) Smith of Wapello; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donald (Nancy) Yardley of Eldon. Mrs. Doty is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Phyllis, Madeline and Phoebe Katherine, and two brothers, James and Troy.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. today at Lunning Chapel in Burlington where the family will receive friends.
The funeral for Mrs. Doty will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Leonard Schantz officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington.
A memorial has been established for American Diabetes Association.
