Wapello (IA) -- William Burt Deam, 49, died unexpectedly at his home near Naperville, Illinois, around 10 a.m. Monday, April 7 (1980).

He was born December 3, 1930, near Mediapolis, to Clarence and Irene Torode Deam. He married Vonnie Howard in Chicago in 1962.

A former Morning Sun resident, he owned and operated the William B. Deam Insurance Company in Naperville and was a Parsons college graduate.

Surviving: The wife; two sons, Jeffrey and Todd, at home; two sisters, Betty Brockway, Davenport, and Donna Schmie (sic), Wapello; and his mother, Irene Deam, Morning Sun.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday, Dudgeon-McCulley funeral home, Wapello; the Reverend John Beebout; Elmwood cemetery near Morning Sun.
