Wayne P. Charbonneaux, age 67, Sperry, died Monday, November 15, 1993 at his residence in rural Sperry.

The son of Noel and Lillian (Gates) Charbonneaux, he was born July 21, 1926 at Oakville, Iowa. On October 31, 1947 he married Thelma Anne Funk at Muscatine, Iowa; she died October 9, 1976.

He was a graduate of Huron High School. He served in the US Navy from 1945-46.

He worked as a carpenter from 20 years, and retired from the Fertilizer Division of AMOCO Oil Co. He was a former member and past president of the Des Moines County Sheriff's Reserve Unit.

He is survived by 2 sons, Rick Charbonneaux, Burlington, Marc Charbonneaux, Sperry; 2 daughters, Lea Johnson, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Dawn Wilson, Sierra Vista, Arizona; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 2 brothers.

Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 19, 1993 at 10:00 a.m. from the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, Mediapolis, with Rev. Gary Biggs officiating.

Casket bearers were Larry Rieghard, Kyle Heckenberg, Kelly Tomson, James Wacker, Jim Jacks and Joseph Dacy. Interment was in Edwards Cemetery, Oakville.
