Elizabeth Carver Stiefel, 82, of 1107 N. Seventh St., Burlington, died at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born May 22, 1916, in Burlington, she was the daughter of William Watson and Jeannie Wilson Carver. She married Carl Frederick Stiefel on Feb. 5, 1955, in Burlington.
Mrs. Stiefel was a graduate of Saunderson Grade School, Burlington High School, Burlington Junior College and the University of Northern Iowa. She attended graduate school at the University of Colorado, Denver University, Northwestern University, the University of Western Iowa and the University of Iowa. She worked as an elementary teacher in Burlington for 36 1/2 years, most of them at North Hill School.
