Eddie "Ed Lover" Cooper Martin died Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa. He was born April 27, 1964 in Osceola, Arkansas the son of James and Lydia Bell Martin. On February 18, 1991 he married Christina Elaine Cantu in Burlington; she died July 1, 1994. On December 15, 2001 he married Arlene Christel Robinson in Burlington, Iowa.

Eddie was a dishwasher at Applebee’s Restaurant in Burlington. He enjoyed watching TV, sports, music, dancing and he loved helping people.

He is survived by his wife Arlene of Burlington, his mother Lydia Lewis of Burlington and his father James Martin of Memphis, TN. Four sisters,Tansha Gordon and Falana (James) Watts both of Burlington, Elaine Neal of Cedar Rapids, IA and Charlotta Coleman of Mitchellville, IA. Eight brothers, James (Theresa) Martin of Luxora, Arkansas, Ricky (Stephanie) Martin, Frederico Howard and Kurstan Davenport all of Burlington. Ronald (Stella) Martin of Rollie, NC; LeRoy (Lakisha) Coleman of Silvis, IL, Rashad Brooks of Davenport, IA and L.C. Davenport of Ft. Madison, IA. A number of nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Christina Elaine Cantu Martin, one brother Eric Coleman and his grandparents.

Funeral Servics will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. Pastor Fred Starling will officiate. The family will receive friends in Prugh’s Chapel on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

A memorial has been established in his memory.
