Sharon Kay Bloomer, 55, of Burlington, died at 3:05 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2004, at Great River Medical Center's Klein Center.
Born September 4, 1948, in Burlington, she was the daughter of James C.and Virginia C. Gorrell Ita. On June 6, 2000, she married Robert Bloomer in Allens Park, Colorado. He died June 13, 2002.
Mrs. Bloomer was an operating room tech at Burlington Medical Center for 38 years.
She was a member of SS John & Paul Catholic Church. She loved to cross stitch, make afghans, work on crafts and spend time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her parents of Burlington; five sons, Christopher Ita of Abingdon, Illinois, Jeff Bloomer of Fort Madison, Matt Bloomer of Independence, David Bloomer of Schaumberg, Illinois, and Mitch Bloomer of Jacksonville, Ill.; one grandson, James Dalton Ita of Abingdon; one granddaughter, Addison Noel Ita of Abingdon; three stepgrandchildren, Josh, Tyler and Emily Bloomer of Fort Madison; two broters, Jerry Ita of Wever and Douglas Ita of Burlington; one sister, Linda Avery of Burlington;three nieces, Kari Ita, Tara Van Blaricome and Amber Helmick; three nephews, Brent Ita, David Ita and michael Bolte.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two nephews, Bryan Avery and Tim Bolte.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Prugh's Chapel, where the family will receive friens from 6 to 8 p.m.
A Funeral Liturgy Outside of Mass for Mrs. Bloomer will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Patrick Hilgendorf and Chaplain Randy Gearhart officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for Great River Medical Center Hospice and the Des Moines County Humane Society.
