Beverly Louise Pershing, 79, of West Burlington died at 8:36 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa.

Born on June 23, 1931, in Oakville, Iowa, she was the daughter of Harold L. and Bernice M. Kuechmann Bailey.

Mrs. Pershing worked as a registered nurse at Burlington Medical Center and was a member of Silver Sneakers, Pinochle Club, Retired Nurses Association and Fraternal Order of the Eagles. She was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include son Kevin Pershing of Lexington, Nebraska, his children Eric and Carter; son Bruce (Nancy) Pershing of Cascade, Montana, their children Derek and Tiffany; daughter Jeanne Goldston of Phoenix, Arizona, her children Jessica, Christine, and Rusty; daughter Leslie Hendricks of Stockton, California, her children Mike, Gene, Stephen and Andrew; daughter Amy Pershing (Life Partner Glenda Currier) of Dubuque; eight great-grandchildren Micah, Leah, Carissa, Aries, Ashlynn, Arianna, Landon and Kaylynn; one sister Marilyn Brau of Mount Pleasant; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter Jessica.

Memorial services for Beverly Louise Pershing will be held at Prugh’s Chapel on Wednesday, June 8. 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Vicki Engelmann will officiate. Interment of ashes will be at a later date. Memorials have been established for P.A.W.S. No Kill Shelter and Des Moines County Humane Society. No visitation is planned. Cremation has been accorded.
