Mary Troxel Schweizer, 78, of Burlington, died at 10:15 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2003 at her home.

Born June 21, 1925, in Burlington, she was the daughter of A. Lloyd and Elizabeth Heaton Troxel Shreves. On December 24, 1946, she married Donald Royce Schweizer in Carmel, California. He died December 24, 1984.

Mrs. Schweizer was a teacher for 23 years in the Burlington School District and at Southeastern Community College.

She was of the Episcopal faith, and a member of Episcopal Church Women, Angel Guild, Altar Guild, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Hetta Gilbert Senior Circle, the Book Club, Burlington Golf Club and a former member of New Crystal Lake Club and Burlington Fine Arts League.

Survivors include three sons, Royce Schweizer of Des Moines, John Schweizer of Burlington and Robert Schweizer of Westminister, Colorado; four grandchildren; one brother, John Shreves of Quincy, Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service for Mrs. Schweizer will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Christ Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Canon Patrick Genereux officiating.
