Beverly Jean (Kemling) Boguslawski, age 78, of West Burlington, Iowa, previously of Gary and Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away June 10, 2014 at home as a result of complications from Parkinson's disease.

Beverly was the youngest of four children born to Walter and Nellie Kemling in Gary, Indiana. She is survived by her husband John, to whom she was married to for 47 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Darwin (Lee) Kemling and sister-in-law Nancy Kemling.

Beverly was blessed with three children, daughter, Karen (Jeffrey) Schwenn of Lyons, Colorado; son, Douglas Boguslawski, also of Lyons Colorado; and daughter Ann (Dr. Douglas) Peters of Burlington, Iowa. "Nana" will be truly missed by her grandchildren, Abby and Jacob, who she loved to spoil. She is survived by her sister, Barbara (Harold) Johnson of Hobart, Indiana; Wayne (Jennie) Kemling of Crystal River, Florida. Beverly is also survived by her sister-in-law, Rose Ann (late John) Ziulkowski of Portage, Indiana. She will also be mourned by many nieces and nephews.

Beverly graduated from Calumet High School in 1952. She was employed for many years at the Lake County Welfare Department and was one of the first Programmers employed by the department as it converted its process to computers. She also was employed as a programmer for Lake County Data Processing, and was instrumental in assisting the County with acquiring the skills in computerizing the Welfare payment tasks. She retired from Analytech Computer Consultants, after having been one of the first employees and had watched the company develop into a successful consulting firm. After retirement, she and her husband moved to West Burlington, Iowa where she was able to enjoy loving, and being loved by her grandchildren. Beverly and her husband traveled extensively, and her most pleasant vacations were those shared with her children and their spouses during family vacations. While she thoroughly enjoyed playing the card game Bridge, it was the friendships of her club members that were most important. She had an infectious laugh and was known for her ability to tell a joke with the wit that most comedians would have envied. She will be remembered with a smile.

It was Beverly's request that she be cremated and arrangements were completed by Thielen Funeral Home and Crematory in Burlington, Iowa.

A church service will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Burlington at noon on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 with Rev. Ryan Cosgrove officiating. A luncheon will follow.

A Celebration of Life will be 4:00-7:00 PM, Saturday, July 26, 2014, at The Patio Restaurant in Merrillville, IN. Her ashes will be placed at a location that both she and her husband enjoyed to view.

At Beverly's request, if so moved, she can be remembered through a donation in her name to the charitable Health Clinic; Catherine McAuley Clinic, 5514 Hohman, Hammond, Indiana 46320. If you wish to share with the family (especially her grandchildren) a story or memory of Beverly, please E-mail to jadapet@hotmail.com.
