Brian C. Henning, 45, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Regional Medical Center in Manchester, Iowa.

A gathering of family and friends celebrating Brian's life will be held from 5 to 7 P.M. on Friday, July 30, 2021, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. A private service and burial will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa.

Brian Charles Henning was born on December 9, 1975 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Ronnie and Shirley Marie (Gilmore) Nugent Henning. He was a 1994 graduate of Andrew Community High School.

Brian enjoyed fishing but had a love and passion for basketball and was actively involved with many area kids and school's basketball programs. A few of those schools that benefited from his love for the game were Maquoketa, Bellevue Marquette, Calamus Wheatland, Northeast, Easton Valley and most recently DeWitt.
He was currently a Teacher's Associate and the Head Sophomore Boys Basketball Coach at Central Community Schools of DeWitt. Prior to taking his most recent job, he had also worked alongside his sister and brother-in-law at Hermes Auto & Upholstery in Maquoketa.

Those left to honor his memory include his siblings, Brenda (Vern) Hermes of Maquoketa, IA, and Brent (Sheila) Nugent of Maquoketa, IA; nieces and nephew, Jolene (Mathias) Dague, Michael (Emily) Hermes, Megan (James) Mead, and Deidra (Aaron) Koppes; and 7 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Ronnie in April of 1978 and his mother Shirley on June 10, 2021.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Brian Charles Henning memorial fund has been established.
