Obituary
Jack Logan Kolka, Sr., 89, of Ryan, Iowa, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021, at his home in Ryan. He was born on September 21, 1931, in Goodman, Wisconsin, the son of John and Helen (Werner) Kolka. Jack attended school in Merrill, Wisconsin and graduated in 1949. After graduation Jack entered the United States Army. He served in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1954.

On September 29, 1951, Jack was united in marriage to Audrey Schroeder at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Irma, Wisconsin. Six children were born to this union. The couple moved to Iowa, where Jack worked for 30 years at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids. In retirement Jack was a mail carrier for two years.

Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and baseball. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan as well as a fan of the Wisconsin Badgers. Jack enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Audrey of Ryan; five children, Lynn (Andy) Richmond of Ryan, Jack (Julie) Kolka, Jr. of Highlandville, Mary (Charles) Brown, of Beaverton, Oregon, Lori (Bob Stonskas) Kolka, of Dubuque, and Mark (Dee) Kolka, of Ryan; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; his three siblings, Julie (Ron) Koranda of Marion, Judd Kolka of Waverly, and Sue Newlin of Marion; sister-in-law, JoAnne Kolka; and several nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his daughter, Jill Kolka in 2005; his parents; his brother Ron Kolka, his sister-in-law, Jan Kolka and a still born great-grandson, Raymond Jack.
