Killed by Lightning.
Manchester, Ia., June 23.—Correspondence: A farmer named John Maxwell was instantly killed by lightning at the John Lillibridge barn, about six miles southeast of this place, to-day. He was at work on the road in company with two other men. When the rain began to fall they took refuge in the barn. He was 27 years old and leaves a family. Two horses and a fine span of mules were also killed at the same time. The barn was also set on fire, but the fire was put out without much damage.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born in 1867 and is buried in Oakland Cemetery.
