Murder and Suicide at Greeley.
Greeley, Sept. 2.—John G. Cooksley killed Mr. Glover and then shot himself. At an early hour to-night the neighbors around Mr. Glover’s home were awakened by hearing the report of a revolver at his house. Thinking burglars were in the house they surrounded it so that if they tried to make their escape the watchers could get them. Then they tried all the doors and windows. They found them all securely locked, then they called to John G. Cookley, the boy that lived with Mr. Glover. After finding that John was in the house they told him to open the door, John paid no attention to this demand and they told him that if he did not open the door he would break it in. At this they heard a shot, whereupon they broke open the door only to find Mr. Glover in the kitchen dead and John in the bed room lying on his face in his own blood, with a revolver at his side. It seems that John and the old man had some trouble of late, resulting in this terrible crime.
