The death of Mrs. Geo. W. Long occurred at Cherokee on Sunday February 14, 1915, after a extended illness of about a year. The remains were brought to this city on Tuesday morning and the funeral services were held this afternoon at one o'clock from the Methodist Episcopal church, conducted by Rev. C. K. Hudson. Interment was made in the cemetery north of Delaware.

Julietta F. Colburn, only child of David and Sarah Colburn, was born at Natick, Massachusetts, on May 27, 1842, and was 72 years, 8 months and 17 days old at the time of her death. She came to Delaware county with her parents when she was thirteen years of age and she has resided here nearly all of the time since then. She was united in marriage with Mr. George W. Long on October 10, 1859. To this union seven children were born, three of whom preceded their mother in death. They are Nancy Jessamine, who died at Earlville twenty-eight years ago, on the anniversary of her parents marriage; Edith Frances, who passed away in infancy, and Julietta Blanche, who died at the age of seventeen years. The surviving children are Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Hulbert of Primghar; George Elmer, of Salem, South Dakota; Henry Franklin, of Watertown, South Dakota, and Jay Colburn, of Virgil, South Dakota. The deceased is also survived by fifteen grand-children, nine great grand-children, her sisters-in-law, Mrs. Fred Pettlon and Mrs. Jacob Pettlon, and her nephew, A. D. Long, of this city.

They resided on a farm north of Delaware for many years, and they also lived in Earlville for a number of years. Mr. Long's death occurred in 1905. After her husband's death Mrs. Long came to Manchester, where she resided for several years. About a year ago she suffered a stroke of paralysis from which she never recovered. Last May she taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hulbert, at Primghar, Iowa, where she was cared for until about two months ago when she was taken to a hospital at Cherokee, where her death occurred.

Mrs. Long was a devout member of the Methodist Episcopal church for many years. Her many Delaware county friends deeply regret to learn of her death.
