Edgewood, Ia. - F.T. Pilkington died at his home here April 3. Mr. Pilkington was born in Peoria, Ill., April 26, 1858. When a small boy he came with his parents to Iowa, settling at Elkport. When 16 years old he began teaching in the public schools and continued this work twelve years.

He married Caroline White Woodall, March 15, 1881. To them were born four children, Mrs. Ed Beohm and George Pilkington of Edgewood; Mrs. Claude Furman of Elkader and Mrs. Tom George of Hinton. These with his widow survive him.

In 1886 Mr. Pilkington moved to Lima, Iowa, where her engaged in the mercantile business, remaining there three years after which he went to Littleport where he continued in his business until 1909 when with his son, George, he came to Edgewood and engaged in the furniture and undertaking business. He assisted in promoting the Farmers' Savings Bank of Edgewood. He was an honored member of the I.O.O.F., which he joined when 21 years old.

Funeral services were held at the Congregational church Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Meyer, assisted by the Rev. Kratz. Interment was made in the Edgewood cemetery.
