Died at her home in Earlville, Iowa, Friday, Feb. 23rd, Mrs. Samuel Ede, aged 56 years. Mrs. Ede had been a patient sufferer during a long illness and her death, although not unexpected, was a shock to all who knew here. She was married to Samuel Ede in 1869. To this until five children were born, two of whom died in infancy, another daughter, Sadie, die in young womanhood, about thirteen years ago. Mrs. Ede had been of resident of Earlville for the past twenty years and during that time had occupied a place in the hearts of her friends that can never be refilled. She was an active member in the church and also a member of the O. E. S. where she was always faithful at her post. Her best felt interests however, were always with her home and her family. When sickness came she did not murmur and suffered patiently until death relived her.

The funeral was held from the Congregational church Monday afternoon, Rev. Stoddard of Melville, Iowa speaking words of comfort to the bereaved husband and daughter. Interment was made in Fairview Cemetery, Acacia Chapter No. 150 O. E. S., conducted the services at the grave. Mrs. Ede was beloved by all who knew her, and the sympathy of a host of friends goes out to the sorrowing family.
