MRS DANIEL COX

The death of Mrs. Daniel Cox occurred at the home of her son George Cox, at Oneida on last Friday evening at eleven o'clock, following a week's illness. The funeral services were held from the M. E. church at Oneida on Tuesday morning at 10:30 o'clock and were conducted by Rev. Mr. Alexander of Greeley. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery at Earlville.

Adelia Tracy was born in Rockton, Vermont, on October 14, 1821, and at the time of her death was 92 years, 4 months and 12 days old. She resided in Vermont during her girlhood and in February, 1838, was united in marriage to Mr. Daniel Cox. Immediately following their marriage they removed to New York state where they resided for about twenty-three years and then they came to Iowa and located in Oneida township in this county which has since been the home of the family. They made the trip overland from Chicago to Delaware county as there were no railroads build through here then. The death of Mr. Cox occurred about twenty years ago. Three children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Cox, one daughter of whom, died in infancy, and one son, James Cox, who passed away four years ago. Mrs. Cox is survived by her one son, George, with whom she was made and on with whom she has made her home for the past fourteen years.

Mrs. Cox was a devout member of the Methodist Episcopal church. The many friends extend their sincere sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
