MRS JAMES LEGASSIC
The death of Mrs. James Legassic occurred at her home east of Earlville on Tuesday morning. She was one of Delaware county's pioneer settlers and was united in marriage to the late Mr. James Legassic fifty-seven years ago. Mrs. Legassic is survived by one son, one brother, C. Hayes, and one sister, Mrs. Herrot of Winfield, Illinois, The funeral arrangements have not, as yet been made.

DEATH CLAIMS PIONEER WOMAN
The funeral of the late Mrs. James Legassic of Earlville was held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock from the home of her son, John E. Legassic. She was the widow of the late James Legassic, at one time a member of the board of supervisors.

Sophia Hayes was born January 30, 1832 at Salisbury, Wiltshire, England, and died March 17, 1914 at the home of her son two miles east of Earlville. Deceased was eighty-two years, one month and seventeen days old at the time of her death. When but a child she came to America with her father and they settled near the city of Cleveland. A few years later they moved to Delaware county and located near Delhi.

On April 14, 1857, she was united in marriage to James Legassic. To this union one son was born. She is survived by her son, a brother, C. Hayes, and a sister, Mrs. Herrot, of Brimfield, Illiniois.

Among those from Manchester who attended the funeral of this pioneer woman on Thursday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Pilgrim and Messrs, John Druise and A. A. McIntosh.
