Gerald Day Staehle 1891-1911

Gerald Staehle died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Staehle, in Waubay, South Dakota August 10, 1911. He was born in Earlville, Iowa, February 8, 1891, and graduated from the Earlville High school with the class of 1908, after which he attended Upper Iowa University for three terms.

In June 1910 he with his parents moved to Waubay, South Dakota, where he was employed until the time of his death.

Besides his parents he leaves to mourn his death, two brothers, Harry and Edward. The sympathy of a large circle of friends is extended to the bereaved family.

The funeral was held Sunday from the Earlville Congregational church being in charge of Rev. Pauley, pastor of that church. Rev. I. M. Wyant preached the funeral sermon. The funeral was largely attended and the floral offerings were profuse and beautiful. Among those from other towns attending were Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Millen of Marion, Henry Staehle and wife of Strawberry Point, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Works and Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Robinson of Manchester and Chas. Correll of Greeley.
