Helen R. Bramley, 88, of The Meadows, Manchester, formerly of Earlville, died Friday, March 7, 2003, in Regional Medical Center, Manchester, after a lengthy illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Earlville United Parish, by the Rev. Lynn Patrick. Burial: Fairview Cemetery, Earlville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Clifton Funeral Home, Earlville, and after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Helen, the daughter of Frank and Mattie Binning Diesch, was born Sept. 25, 1914, near Earlville. She graduated from Earlville High School in 1932 and attended Pitze's for two years, where she received her beautician's license. She worked in this profession for 51 years and retired in 1988. On May 30, 1939, she married H. James Bramley at the Methodist parsonage in Earlville. He died Sept. 1, 1987.

She was a member of the Earlville United Parish and the United Parish Women, plus several clubs in Earlville. She was a former Cub Scout leader and enjoyed traveling, bingo, quilting and crocheting. The family will cherish her many handmade gifts. She was especially fond of family gatherings and her grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Jim and wife Cherie Bramley of New Ulm, Minn., and Bill and wife Lorie Bramley of Earlville; six grandchildren, Kim (Jeff) Fehlhafer of Cedar Rapids, Geni (Dwight) DeBoer of Lafayette, Minn., Tom (Heidi) Bramley of Burnsville, Minn., Pam (David) Webster of Warsaw, Poland, Todd (Kathy) Bramley of Albuquerque, N.M., and Tara (Matt) Malin of Marion; 20 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim Diesch of Manchester; a sister, Mary Stimson of Earlville; and a sister-in-law, Dot Diesch of Earlville.

Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband, Jim, were a brother, Harold Diesch, and a sister, Donna Milroy.
