MISS SARAH SCANLON
BECOMES BRIDE OF
WARD WALSTON
~
Monday evening, July 9th, at the home of Dr. M. R. Drury, the officiating minister, 1722 Fourth Avenue, Cedar Rapids, a delightful wedding took place. The bride and groom were Miss Sarah Mills Scanlon and Mrs. Ward Jerome Walston, both of Manchester. The bride was a student at Leander Clark College in Toledo during the time Dr. Drury was president of that institution, and he has been a warm personal friend of her family for many years. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luke Scanlon, the parents of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Walston, Avery Cramer and Miss Rebecca Scanlon, all of Manchester; Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Shaffer and daughter Leola of Marion, and Miss Blanche Walston of Cedar Rapids, were all present to witness the marriage of this young couple. A double ring ceremony was used and the vows taken were sanctioned by the friends of the bride and groom and heartiest congratulations and good wishes. After a wedding trip to include a visit to Chicago and elsewhere Mr. and Mrs. Walston will be at home to their friends on a farm one mile west of Manchester.

The Democrat wished Mr. and Mrs. Walston a generous share of happiness and prosperity.
