Hello Christine,

I think maybe we have corresponded in the past but I've lost touch with you.

Bailey PETTY (Sr) & Elizabeth MADDOX were my ggg grandparents. I descend from their son, Bailey Merriman PETTY & Elizabeth HAINES. I'm guessing you descend from the elder Bailey's daughter, Hannah R. (PETTY) WRIGHT, as theirs is the only branch of the family who talk about Elizabeth MADDOX being adopted from a Native American family.

Bailey PETTY was a descendant of Joseph PETTY Sr of Prince William Co VA. I have a PETTY genealogy discussion group for anyone who is a descendent of this family. Why don't you join our group so we can help you with whatever info your missing. : ))
