Ethel Naomi, daughter of Levi and Ethel Wells Gatton, was born in Decatur county, near Leon, Iowa, on May 2, 1908, and departed this life at the Decatur county hospital on February 4, 1947, after only an hour or so illness.

She was married on December 24, 1928 to John T. Gilbert. To this union one son was born. She was married again on March 22, 1945 to Tracy R. Bigley and to this union also one child was born.

Ethel was a kind and loving wife and mother. She was a wonderful daughter and sister and a friend to all. She will be sadly missed by her family and relatives, especially her two little sons and her memory will never grow dim in the hearts of those who loved her. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband and two sons, Donald K. Gilbert and Larry Joe Bigley; one stepson of the home; three stepdaughters; her mother, Mrs. Ethel Gatton and 13 brothers and sisters: Lester Gatton of Santa Ana, California; Esther Carlock of Urich, Mo.; Abe Gatton of Liberty, Mo.; Fred and George Gatton of Denver, Colo.; Irene Gatton of Des Moines; Bill, Ralph, Robert and Loyd Gatton, all of Leon; Mrs. Ruby Mae Orey of Pleasanton, Mrs. Wilma Baughman and Mrs. Nellie Johnson, both of Leon.

A loving one from us has gone, a voice we loved is still. A place is vacant in our hearts that never can be filled.

Song service by Mrs. Helen Maughan, included the Old Rugged Cross and Going Down the Valley.

Funeral services conducted by Rev. John L. McCurdy, were held at the Stewart Funeral Home on Friday afternoon with burial following in the Leon Cemetery.
