Fannie Belle Mickelson, daughter of Elmer and Viola Lamphair[sic], was born at Beloit, Kan., Dec. 10, 1878, and passed from this life in Leon, Iowa, on March 20. 1958, aged 79 years, 3 months, and 10 days.

She was one of a family of 10 children and early in childhood migrated with her family in a covered wagon to Iowa where she spent the remainder of her life, in and around Pleasanton and Lamoni.

In early life, she became a member of the Baptist church, and later was baptized a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and remained a faithful member until the time of her departure.

She was married to John Michelson on June 16, 1901. To this union, four children were born: Mrs. Viola Jackson and Vern Mickelson of Malvern, Iowa; and Mrs. Dorothy Lewis of Windsor, Calif., and a son, Howard, who preceded her in death during the year of 1956.

She is also survived by three brothers, Ernest, King, and Lou Lamphair of Leon and Pleasanton, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Daisy Turner and Mrs. Libby Hamilton, both of California; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

On account of ill health, she spent the last few years in nursing homes. For the past two and a half years, she lived in the Frost Nursing home at Leon, where she passed from this life.

Memorial services were held at the Marsh Funeral chapel on March 22, 1958, with Elders Wilber Prall and Ed Downey officiating. Interment was at Rose Hill cemetery.
