19 Feb 1915 in Richland, Decatur County, Iowa, at the age of 85 Years, 4 Months,
7 Days, Mary Ann Binning Hewlett Anstey passed away.

The former Mary Ann Binning, was born and educated in Wedmore, Somersetshire, England. Her parents were Joan Wall and Jeffrey Binning.

As a young women, at the age of 18 years, she left her family and friends and traveled to New York state, where she married William Hewlett. Mary Ann Binning's brother George also came in 1848 and settle in Wisconsin. A few years latter her older sister Sarah Elizabeth Binning and younger brothers Jeffrey & Henry Binning would make the same journey by ship in 1850. Brother Charles
Binning and sister Betsy Elizabeth Binning Bryant and family, would arrive in 1866, brother
Lot Binning would join his Binning siblings decades later in 1880.

This pioneer woman who has lived in America for over 67 years, the last 35 years in Decatur County, Iowa, was a devoted wife, loving mother, sister & grandmother. She leaves a wide circle of friends and family.

Preceded in death, by her parents, two husbands, William Hewlett & William Anstey,daughter, Tamer A Hewlett and son Richard Hewlett. grandchildren: Arthur & Anna Belle Hewlett, Eva Hewlett Siple, Ella Marea Hewlett & Mary "Helen" Anstey. brothers: George Binning, Wisconsin, Jeffrey, Henry & Lot Binning, Iowa.

Those left to honor her memory, daughters: Sarah Jane Hewlett, "Annie" Hewlett Harris, Mary Ann Hewlett Evans, Minnie May Anstey Millard, sons: John Hewlett, Fredrick & William Anstey. sisters: Sarah Elizabeth Binning Baker & Betsy Elizabeth
Binning Bryant and brother Charles H Binning. Also numerous grandchildren, nieces & nephews.

She was laid to rest by her second husband William Anstey in Oak Hill Cemetery,
Grand River, Decatur County, Iowa.
