Leon, Decatur County, IowaCarol Ann Wilson, age 85, of Davis City, Iowa, the daughter of John Dale and Mildred Mary (Crews) Wilson, was born December 3, 1932, in Moorhead, Iowa. She died at her home on Monday, June 11, 2018.
Carol lived in Davis City, Iowa and graduated from Lamoni, Iowa High School in 1951. Shortly after graduation, she moved to North Kansas City, Missouri and started working for Commerce Bank downtown. She retired in 1997. She was proud of the fact she was a breast cancer 20+ years survivor. In 2016, she returned to Davis City and lived with her niece, Jackie, due to failing health.
She loved music and playing the piano. Her mother lived with her after she became widowed. Together they enjoyed entertaining and hosting holiday dinners. She loved hunting for antiques and vacationing in the Ozarks, especially in the fall. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Liberty, Missouri.
Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Shirley Willis; and brother, Joe Wilson. Survivors include her four nieces, Jackie (Willis) Vermillion, Vickie (Willis) and Gary Garrels, Keli (Willis) and Larry Tolle, and Michelle (Wilson) and Jeff Monnig; many great nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Liberty, Missouri at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018. Burial will be at a later date.
Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home of Leon was in charge of arrangements.
