Services Held Wednesday for Harley Reeves

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Paradise Valley Chapel for Harley D. Reeves, 82, former Glenrock resident who died Sunday night in Natrona County Memorial Hospital [Casper, Wyoming] following a lengthy illness. The services were conducted by Elder Al Allen. Burial was in the family plot in Douglas Park Cemetery [Douglas, Wyoming].

Pallbearers were Otto Kuntzel, William Sleeger, Manfred Hutley, James Runion, Earl T. Shaffer and John Shaffer, all of Casper.

Mr. Reeves was born at Decatur, Ill., September 1, 1887. His family moved to Murray, Iowa. In 1906 he married Edith Coon. They had five children: Cecil, Harry, Mrs. Boyce McCutchen, Mrs. Montelle Chew and Maxine Reeves. He was preceded in death by his wife and [illegible].

On December 25, 1923, he married Sylvia Motts (sic, should be Metts). They had six children: Carroll, Ross, Clyde, Robert, Mrs. Richard Watts and Donald J. Two sons preceded him in death.

On March, 1924, the family moved to Wyoming where he did oilfield and road construction throughout the state. They lived in Glenrock from 1945 to 1960 where Reeves operated Wood Chevrolet. In 1961 they moved to Casper where he lived until his death.

In addition to his children, he is survived by his widow, Sylvia, at 822 East Third, Casper; 22 grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond of Pueblo, Colo., and Hazel Reeves of Betendoll, Iowa.
