Obituary ~ Cecil Ardis Reeves

Thursday, February 01, 1923

Cecil A. Reeves pased away following a heart attack. He was at work near Esterbrook when he was stricken at noon Monday and passed away shortly after he was brought to the Douglas hospital by Dale Ballard of Esterbrook. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harley D. Reeves. He spent his boyhood and attended school in Iowa. The family moved to Wyoming in 1924 settling north of Douglas, later moving to Casper.

In January, 1939 he was married to Vera Williamson. To this union were born four children. The family moved to Douglas in 1943. Cecil worked at highway and road construction over the state for a number of years and was so occupied when he was stricken.

One son, Dwight "Petie" preceded him in death last fall. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Vera, one son Keith of the United States Air Force, two sons, Douglas and Melvin and one daughter, Glennita of the family home; his father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Reeves of Glenrock; three sisters, Dorothy McCuthion (sic, should be McCutchan) of Creston, Iowa; Mildred Chew of Murray, Iowa; and Harleen Watts of Glenrock; five brothers, Harry, Carroll, Ross, Max, and Don of Glenrock and Casper; two grandchildren, Debbie and Mike Reeves of Austin, Texas.

[Interment was made at Douglas Park Cemetery, Douglas, Wyoming.]
