Burton Creswell Died Suddenly New Year's Day
Burton H. Creswell, 58, of Decatur, owner of Burton's Taxi Service in Leon, who was known to many as "Burton" or Mr. Burton, died suddenly shortly after midnight just after he entered the Decatur County Hospital in Leon.

Brton had not been well and had worked only part of the day. He suffered a heart attack.

He had been in the taxi business in Leon for the past seven years. For the past four and one half years Burton and his wife, Mabel, operated the taxi service. She remained in the office to operate the two-way radio, the phone service and do the book work. Burton had other drivers to assist him as he made numerous long distance trips with customers.

Prior to operating a taxi service he operated Burton's recording studio and a cafe in Decatur.

Besides his wife, Mabel, he leaves two sisters, Mary Peterson of Ogallala, Nebr., and Maude Creswell of Decatur, and an aunt, Emily Lake, of Leon.

Funeral services will be held at the Stewart Funeral Home at 2:00 p. m. Thursday with interment in the Leon Cemetery (sic, should be Decatur Cemetery).
