Thursday, October 19, 2017Nancy Kay Wallace, age 65, of Lamoni, Iowa, the daughter of Frank Carl and Arlene Clara (Harvey) Steinke, was born July 4, 1952, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She died at her home on Monday, October 16, 2017.
Nancy grew up in Belmont and Rockford, Michigan. She graduated from high school in 1970. She attended Graceland College and graduated in 1974. She later obtained her masters degree from the University of Iowa in social work.
In 1976, she married Jon Berkley Wallace. They were blessed with son, Brent. Nancy worked for Graceland University for over 30 years. She started out as an academic advisor, then career counselor, alumni director, and was currently teaching part time. After Jon’s retirement, they enjoyed their surroundings on their small acreage outside of Lamoni. In her free time, Nancy enjoyed antiques, furniture, and gardening.
She was preceded her in death by her mother; and her husband, Jon, on October 11, 2010.
Survivors include her son, Brent Wallace, and wife, Sabrina, of Portland, Oregon; father, Frank Steinke, of Grand Rapids, Michigan; sister, Joyce Johnecheck, and husband, Harvey, of Grand Rapids; niece, Amy Randall, of Grand Rapids; nephew, Dan Randall, and wife, Barb, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and other relatives and many friends.
Memorial services will be held at the Lamoni Community of Christ Church in Lamoni, Iowa at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017. [Interment was made at Rose Hill Cemetery, Lamoni, Iowa.]
