Obituary ~ Josephine Violet "JoJo" Moore

Josephine Violet Moore, 21 month old daughter of Michael Wade Moore and Rebecca Waleena Drake, was born September 15, 2015, at Leon, Iowa. She left this life on Thursday, June 22, 2017, at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa.

JoJo, as she was known, was a beautiful, little girl who loved to play Peek-a-boo, try to fix things with Dad’s tools, jump on the trampoline, ride horses, laugh, watch Paw Patrol and Rusty Rivets on television, and play with her family and animals. After saying, mommy and daddy, horsey was her next word. She liked chocolate and loved licking it off nutty bars and feeding the wafers to her family.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, William Waldo and Nancy Desire (Wilson) Moore; and uncle, Bobby Drake.

Survivors include her parents, Mike Moore and Becky Drake of Leon, Iowa; sisters, Alexis Moore of Leon and Shannon Hamilton and husband, Josh of Boston, Massachusetts; brother, Trevor Janssen of Panama City, Florida; step siblings, Brandon Janssen and Monica Janssen, both of Leon; grandmas, Shirley Drake and Nana Connie and husband, Roy; aunts and uncles, Michelle Wakefield and Jim, Tony and Sissy Jones, Donna and Ronald Van Sickle, Donnie Drake, Saleena and Brian Ayres, Byron Drake, Billy and Maria Drake, LaSheena Drake, and Becky Bidwell Drake; many cousins; and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2017, with Dr. Mark Easter officiating. [Interment was made in Leon Cemetery, Leon, Iowa.]

A memorial has been established by the family.
