Frances V. Wagler, 77, died at 5:42 a.m. Saturday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

She was born July 23, 1907 in Numa to James W. and Hannah Bell Leak Hibbs. A resident of Bloomfield most of her life, she was an home economics teacher at Bloomfield High School and later was a dietician at the Davis County Hospital. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Child-Study Club, a charter member of Chapter Q, past national president of TTT, a 50-year member of Eastern Star, a charter member of the Chautauqua Club and a lifetime member of United Methodist Women.

She was a graduate of Centerville High School and Iowa State University with honors. She was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority.

She married Chris Clayton Wagler on Nov. 26, 1931 in Bloomfield.

Survivors indclude her husband; two daughters, Nancy Johnston of Des Moines and Linda Leyda of Babenhausen, West Germany; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held today at the Wagler Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Ellis Andrews. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to the Bloomfield United Methodist Church.
