BATAVIA - Alta M. Creek, 89, formerly of Batavia, died Wednesday morning at the Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield.
She was born May 17, 1898, in Davis County, the daughter of George W. and Sarah J. Piercfield Jones. She married Raliegh W. Creek, Nov. 20, 1918, in Libertyville and spent most of her life in the Batavia community.
Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Alice Hidy of Booneville, Mo.; one son, Jim of San Jacinto, Calif.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services for Mrs. Creek will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Campbell Funeral Chapel, Batavia, with the Rev. Leonard Sammon officiating. Burial will be in the Batavia Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral chapel from 7-8 p.m. Friday.
A memorial has been established for the American Heart Fund.
